About NCSC

Nordic Combined Ski Canada (NCSC) is the national sport governing body for Nordic combined skiing in Canada. NCSC was established to

a) function as the governing body for Nordic Combined skiing in Canada;

b) promote and foster competitive and non-competitive Nordic Combined skiing in Canada;

c) govern the conduct of sanctioned Nordic Combined competitions in Canada;

d) select and train members of national teams to represent Canada in national and international competitions;

e) develop, organize and promote comprehensive programs for the development of athletes, coaches, judges and officials in Canada;

f) represent Nordic Combined skiing in Canada, without limitation, at the Canadian Olympic Committee; the Canadian Snowsports Association; and in the International Federation of Skiing (FIS), through the Canadian Snowsports Association or by other means.

Event sanctions:

NCSC, through the Canadian Snowsports Association, provides competition sanctions for all Nordic combined competitions held at the National Training Centre and elsewhere in Canada.

Competitor Cards:

NCSC issues competitor cards for all registered Canadian Nordic combined skiers and FIS licenses and athlete insurance for Canada’s international skiers.

Selection to National Teams:

Nordic Combined Ski Canada is responsible for the selection of athletes to National Teams, such as: Canada’s Nordic Combined National Ski Team, the Nordic Combined National Development Team, and the Nordic Combined National World Junior Team.

Coaching Programs:

In cooperation with the Coaches Association of Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program, NCSC is responsible for the development, delivery, and certification of NCCP Level One, Two, and Three Nordic combined ski coaches programs, as well as the coordination and approval of tasks applied toward all Level Four and Level Five certificates.

Officials Certification:

NCSC is responsible for the development and certification of Technical Delegates and Competition Officials for the sport of Nordic combined skiing in Canada, from the club level right up to national level, including all but the FIS assigned officials for the Olympic Winter Games.

National Office:

In 1995, Nordic Combined Ski Canada relocated its National office to Calgary and began to set up what would soon be known as the Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined National Training Centre in collaboration with the National Training Centre ‘partners’.
